Why so little electric guitar discussion?
Why so little electric guitar discussion?
I have been playing Collings acoustics for about ten years. I have gone through many, and currently have three small bodied Collings acoustics: 001A 14 fret, C-10 sssb German top, and a western shade 01A. They are all very fine guitars. They all sound fantastic and play like a dream and look amazing.
But...
I have also begun to play electrics and am having a blast. I have a 290 natural aged with gold foil Lollars and a beautiful I35 deluxe. I cannot play a fancy lead for the life of me, and so I am using my electrics a lot like I use my acoustics. II just play away and sing. The two guitars are quite different in feel, which makes for a lot of fun. The 290 is small and easy, the bigger I35 is just amazing and closer to an acoustic sound.
But...

Not sure there are many electric players on here. More things for sale than to read.

I have a 290 and I35 as well. They're both spectacular instruments. A friend borrowed my I35 and I've not been able to get it back for months.
Forum activity as a whole is down, so it carries that electric discussions have followed. It could be that people are playing more // typing less.

I love your guitars (the same as mine).
Let's do some more typing here with each other and get this site rockin' again.
There is something about the 290 that is difficult to express other than to say it is soooo easy to play. I just feel it is a part of me.

I love seeing the UA OX in someone's rig. It still feels like secret sauce though it's been around a couple years now. Great product.

'Bout time I tried to post a picture. And I35s rock!

Love the I-35LC. And, that OX Top Box, truly a mighty tone weapon in the right hands....
