CJ 45
Re: CJ 45
My CJ-45T Sitka is literally the best acoustic that I've ever owned. I've pondered adding an "A" version because of it. Whatever Collings did to achieve the 45 series sound, I hope they expand upon with other models.markT wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 12:06 pm https://themusicemporium.com/products/c ... tradtional
Looks like TME just got a new one. I promise not to snag this one....

Glad you are enjoying the CJ 45. I have not heard too many reports yet, but the ones I have heard have all been stellar. I can't wait for more of these to get out there....seems like they have a winner here. If the model takes off a bit it would be cool if they offered a variant in maple....just kind a plain, stained maple a la the maple J45's that appeared in the war years/"banner" period.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine has just reviewed the CJ45T and of course, it's another rave review!!Bluesandswing wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 10:16 pm Glad you are enjoying the CJ 45. I sure hope to play one of these someday. The body is too deep for me so it’s off my wish list but they sure seem enchanting.

I'm not in love with that demo for some reason, and would say that CJ-45T sounds nothing like mine. Could be the sound quality or playing style. On that note, I think this below demo highlights how my CJ-45T sitka sounds.

I think it's a little of both.Peanut73 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 1:13 pm

Yes, this new video show the sonic signature much better. Very nice! It actually sounds like my Adirondack topped version too. Magical mids!!
Thanks for posting~

Wow, what a great guitar this must be! I love the whole concept behind this one. I really like the finish on this instrument as well. I can hardly wait to see and play one of these beautiful ones in Canada
Re: CJ 45
I now have a CJ45T as well (Sitka) and it is one of the best guitars I've owned! It is dry, extremely powerful, full, and contrary to what I heard has a huge bass. This guitar doesn't lose any volume or tone up the neck either. Really oustanding.
I also have a D1AT satin that is extremely loud and warm sounding to compare. The D1AT is a sweeter sounding guitar and the CJ45T just roars with a fullness to it that can't be beat. They are both awesome and I feel lucky to have them.
These guitars come stock with EJ17's. What strings are you all using on these guitars? Anyone switch to .12's?
