Silent Night
Silent Night
I watched a special the other night about the origins and impact of "Silent Night". It was quite interesting and I learned something relevant to our boards. The poem, written by Joseph Mohr, was set to music by Franz Gruber in 1816 on a guitar. Indeed for a number of years the guitar was the instrument on which it was most commonly preformed. I think it is still a great way to play this most beautiful of Christmas songs.

Bob,
It’s a wonderful song and performed in a great variety of styles too. What show was it that you watched? It sounds interesting.

The movie is called Silent Night A Song For The World.
I saw it on the CW Network. I just peeked and there are a couple of full length videos of it posted on youtube
You are right. In the show there are lots of arrangements and in several languages.
