Kluson tuners fitted in 1990 to CW-28 inquiry
Greetings, I am inquiring to identify the proper Kluson Deluxe tuners Bill fitted to a CW-28 in 1990... I have no information on these tuners after about 1970... single line, and double line styles, etc. were transitioning in those days. What style were they in 1990? Thanks in advance. Sam Rawlins, Atlanta, GA

Hi Sam,
If someone here doesn't have your answer, do ask Collings the question if you haven't already. I'd try to get an email to Mark Althans. Good Luck.

After review of photos on David's site (thanks David) It appears the Gotoh brand of tuners were originally fitted... same apparent footprint as Kluson Deluxe. I wonder if they were any good? I will try to source a set. Many thanks from this Collings Forum new member.

Just had a local luthier install new Gotoh Kluson style tuners on my 1993 D2H. They fit perfectly. Get them at StewMac. Jeff

Have no fear! Gotoh makes a really nice tuner. I put some on my old (1968) when its tuners gave up the ghost and couldn’t be happier.tryingtopick wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:03 pm After review of photos on David's site (thanks David) It appears the Gotoh brand of tuners were originally fitted... same apparent footprint as Kluson Deluxe. Although my preference is always to Waverly’s. I’m sure the Gotohs will work just fine!Wproffitt wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 12:21 pmHave no fear! Gotoh makes a really nice tuner.
