I recently put a James tailpiece on my MT2--not hard to do, but I didn't realize that Collings glues in their endpins!

How did you remove the endpin? Was the James tailpiece and exact fit in terms of the screw holes lining up?

I learned that the endpin was glued in when I researched after breaking it off! I had to drill out what was left. The James tp screw holes lined up prefectly. The endpin hole in the James tp was elongated to accomodate slighty different endpin locations.

Great decision to go with the James, best in the business!

i'm new to the james tailpiece. what an improvement from a practical standpoint for me. not near as incredble looking as the engraved collings, but so much easier to restring:)

You can’t go wrong with a James tailpiece.
