New to Collings - Used help

Hi all,
I'm looking to purchase my first Collings ...its from early 2000..

If there anything I should particularly look out for? I noticed a bit of lamination of the lacquer around the back of the headstock which I believe is an easy fix..

Anything in particular to look at given it's 20+ years old?

Papers / certs important? any advice gratefully received...vintage guitars as such, whatever that means as early examples start from the mid 70's so anything of note to be aware of ..are newer ones better, worse quality etc...

You can tell this is a new brand to my and out of my reach new to be honest but a used opportunity has come up!

First welcome to the forum, and Collings guitars!
I'd say in my un-expert opinion, just look the guitar over closely, straight neck, cracks, fret conditon, ask about any repairs, etc...maybe have a tech look at it if possible.
I've owned a couple pre2000 Collings, and personally think they are some of the greatest sounding, maybe due to 20 years of maturing.
Personally, papers/certs are not important...but cool if you get them.
If you have found a model you like, it just may be one of your best guitar investments as they are incredibly well made, and in experience just keep playing/sounding better and better.
Which model are you getting?
