NGD - First Collings

Hi folks, brand new member, first post. Not sure of the protocol but thought I'd start with my new (used) I35. Been looking for a light one and this fit the bill on Reverb from a really great seller. UPS tried to mess with me (took a day off work, was home when it arrived but driver rushed away before I could get to the door and made me wait another day!) but it's here, safe and beautiful. Have many guitars (Fender and Gibson, but this Collings is a keeper and will mean I'm selling a 335 now). Glad to find this place and explore more.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum! Based on mine, I say the I35 is an instrument crafted to a higher level. Enjoy yours!
Cheers, Tom

Thanks both -- yes, it is quiet here but there's lots of info I'm enjoying. Toured the Collings plant years back and always wanted one after that but it took awhile. Am really enjoying this one so far.

I too, am new to the forum. I have a keen interest in the i-35. I currently play a fender telecaster and a Collings OOO3. I really want a Collings semi-hollow, not sure yet which one would be best for me. The I-35 is at the top of my short list at this time.

It's really a great guitar. Am a regular tele/strat guy but also have various semi-hollows/jazz boxes, including a great Gibson CS 359 and I think the Collings is right up there, maybe a tad livelier unplugged and certainly lighter, which matters to me. Am finally getting the guitars I always wanted after years of trying to 'save' a little by buying others....if I could have that time back etc.....Wanted a SoCo originally but the I-35 fits me better and the deal was right.
