NYJake, This is 100% Frank Sanns and Elambo's gig.
I have nothing to do with setting it up, I just helped Beta test it, and make some suggestions.

I am still hosting Facebook's 'Collings Enthusiasts' page and 'Collings Instruments BuySellTrade' sites though.
I am just thrilled to be on the Starting Grid with all of you.

As a long time member of the original Collings Forum (AussieSteve), it's great to see it back up and running. Good job everybody and thanks.

Hi Gents, this is "Silly Moustache" from the UK here. I've just discovered this through Farcebook, and so registered.

However recently I also signed up to "The Unofficial Collings and Waterloo Forum".

Anyone know how these two will work out /compete/cooperate?

Ol' Andy

Nice to see you here Andy.

The short answer is that everybody is free to participate in this site and any other ones on the net but we hope you will join us here. There is no competition from this forum as there is a link to the forum that you mentioned on this site. I am not sure when those other sites came into existence but we ( Eric Lambert and I ) were working hard to get the old site up and patience, on our part, was appropriate.

There was much effort to restore the original forum but as time passed, it became less and less likely that it could happen hence we migrated here. If and when that original material becomes available, we will integrate it in to this forum as an information repository.

Hopefully that clarifies things a bit.

Frank

Thanks so much Frank...and Eric for getting this reorganization up.

I had talked to Collings about it myself, but you have gone about it the correct way, it seems.
I had also talked to a girl at the old host site and she said they needed to talk to Ed, but to no avail.

So again, thanks for grabbing this by the horns and running with it.

Indeed, I tried hard to push the old forum back into existence because there's a wealth of info there, but after many months of waiting for a sign of resurrection the old place just didn't seem like an option any longer. A lot of assistance was offered, including full funding and technical backend for the foreseeable future, but that didn't raise it from the dead either.

The site needed some major software upgrades, and functional and aesthetic changes to go with that, and now we have control over the handlings of all of that. This is good news.

What we don't have is the thread and post count, but that will take off soon. Membership is growing quickly and the contributions to this point have been great.

Thank you for bringing this forum up. I was not a big participant on the old one, but did miss it when it was gone.
