Hi, I’m looking at my first Collings purchase and I’ve been offered a 2019 D2AH. It’s in really beautiful condition as well as the case. I’m having trouble finding recent sales to determine a good price. Thanks for any help.

The list price is $5750 if no other options were on the guitar. Street price would be lower and used lower yet. Probably around $4k plus or minus a couple hundred is close. Others may want to chime in.

Thanks. I was able to track down that list price, or close to it. I’m not sure this deal will work out. I was excited about becoming a Collings owner. Time to put my poker face on.

Seller market now...

I was seeing a dozen D1A's on Reverb for ~$3000 last year. Today the cheapest is over $4000.... I almost and shoulda bought a spare at $3000 last year! There's one D2HA on Reverb for $5000 so.....

The good news is Collings are NOT money losers like many guitars! I've had high end most sought after '52 AVRI Telecaster that I couldn't get 60% of list for even this year.

I paid $4200 for my 2013 D1A Western Burst 3 years ago and could sell it for that today....But I aint!

Collings no longer makes their cases too. Figure that's a good $700 bump and if you have a case could flip that towards the expense. Once you get it you'll probably want to keep it though.

For a number....I'd go up to $4500 IF I was planing on flipping the case. If not I'd hang around the $4000 mark. But it's all about how much cash you have and how the Collings sounds. Don't pass it up by haggling over a couple $100....You'll forget quickly once you've been playing the D2HA for a while!

Good luck!
