Collings used to grade Brazilian as " b a aa aaa" those were the four tier levels... This grading system was based on the rosewood they had in stock at the time of the build...With that said, it would not be uncommon to find b grade from one year that was nicer than aa from another year.....

Collings no longer builds Brazilian guitars. In the 90s they were graded a,aa,aaa, b etc.... by early 2000 they stopped using the grading system. And it is true...a "b" guitar from '90 may have nicer looking wood than a "aa" from 2000.

i found some aaaa but I assume a Baaaa is just braz with triple A (best) with adirondack right?
so basicly the best quality guitar would be a BAAAA (braz triple a with adirondack) correct?
