I recently put a James tailpiece on my MT2--not hard to do, but I didn't realize that Collings glues in their endpins!

Great decision to go with the James, best in the business!A5mando wrote: Wed Aug 17, 2022 1:40 am I learned that the endpin was glued in when I researched after breaking it off! I had to drill out what was left. The James tp screw holes lined up prefectly. The endpin hole in the James tp was elongated to accomodate slighty different endpin locations.
This is my vote for best in the business...prob Mr. Collings as well:)Red Oak wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 3:19 amGreat decision to go with the James, best in the business!A5mando wrote: Wed Aug 17, 2022 1:40 am I learned that the endpin was glued in when I researched after breaking it off! Lister is a great talent.Greg Y wrote: Mon Apr 24, 2023 8:24 pm IMO and experience, the James tailpiece is much more easy to string. It doesn't have the sharp edge of the Collings tailpiece where some of our hands come to rest. As good as the Collings tailpiece looks engraved. The James has more real estate for engraving and Weldon Lister has done a bunch of very tasteful ones.
Here's the one he did for my Ellis A Deluxe.
