That’s a great question. Waverly’s are widely viewed as the gold standard.

Oops, been kinda out of touch. I replaced them with Waverly golds with ebony buttons. Never understood why Collings doesn't go the extra step on their best, especially after purposely making the logo inlay gold.
The nickel just doesn't look right. Also, why would they glue the bushings in making them virtually impossible to remove without damage? That's almost as bad as Martin gluing the saddles in on their 1937s.

A little bit of heat....& the bushing come out.... a soldering iron or a nail heated up on the stove touched to the inside of the bushing & they're free

Great observation!!! I’m in agreement that Waverly golds are second to none.
