Hi
I have always used John Pearse light gauge strings on my OM2HSS but was thinking about trying medium gauge strings . I know that the website says that although light gauge is recommended mediums are okay. Anyone else using mediums? Any noticeable improvement in tone or volume?

Hi MartinVT, Put a set of D'Adarrio light nickle bronze on it and hang on! Or the mediums but try the lights first.

I used mediums on my OM1A Cutaway with desired results. Slightly stiffer action, which I liked and thicker, deeper tones.

I sold that guitar a couple of years ago and now have a OM1A JL. I have heard, but not confirmed they do not recommend any heavier than Lights on that particular instrument. I need to verify that.

I tried mediums on my OM1a-JL and was disappointed. I quickly removed them and installed some Curt Mangen medium/lights and found that these strings were better suited. I get a nicer bass sound and bendable bright treble response

I was thinking about trying mediums on my JL as well. Since the X is scooted back a little I thought it would be okay.

New Mediums here because Lights have treble strings that are just a touch too thin and twangy, and Mediums have too much tension so the top feels restricted. New Mediums offer the best of both worlds.
