Nut width differences on Collings Baby

For those who have experience with the Collings Baby, is there really much of a playability difference between the 1-11/16 nut and the 1-3/4 nut, and which is easier to play with arthritis, or does it really make a difference with the short scale and 2-3/16 string spacing ?
