Collings bridge pins
Collings bridge pins
Good morning. I recently noticed on some of the traditional models that Collings uses the ivoroid bridge pins with black dots. Does anyone know where I can get a set of these? I have an 02H in baked Sitka and would like to change out the black bridge pins for a set of the white ivoroid bridge pins with the black dots.
Thanks for your time

Many folks here recommend the pins from Bob Colosi. http://www.guitarsaddles.com/ These are actual natural materials not ivroid.
If you want the actual Ivroid pins try these at Stewmac. https://www.stewmac.com/SiteSearch/?sea ... oid%20pins

You know the best thing to do is call the Collings Factory. They sell the pins used in Collings. They can sell you a set that should fit your guitar without adjustment.

Re: Collings bridge pins
FWIW, I have changed out the Ebony pins on all five of my Collings guitars and my Waterloo.
This is purely for aesthetic purposes, although I "suspect" that bone pins increase the treble a little - not necessarily a benefit as, I believe that My instruments are perfectly balanced using very neutral ebony pins ...which look a bit boring to me.
I have two sets of bone pins and one set of FW which cost me a fortune in ~ Customs and Excise duties importing into the UK.
I have bought various bone pins (probably Chinese) on UK ebay which look good and fit with no issues.
However, Bob Colosi's website has some very useful info about pin sizes on his "products" page.
http://www.guitarsaddles.com/products.asp:
Collings after 2002 Size 4.2C Normally cut to .223" underskirt to match manufacturers pin
Collings before 2002 Size 1T
Just looked on US Ebay and found similar pins to some that I've used : -search for : 6x Real Bone Material Acoustic Guitar Bridge Pins With Pearl Shell Dot
