Spam attacks

Post: # 2857Post Forum Admin

This evening, the site took on a barrage of spam registrations and posts. Nearly 100 registrations came in a 1 hour period with increasing numbers coming faster and faster. To make matters worse, there were accounts that were already activated and were lying in waiting to be triggered to post at a later time.

We could not keep up so the only option was to temporarily deactivate registration and posting by taking the site offline. The glut of registrations, activations, and the spam posts were cleaned up.

Registration is still disabled and you may still some some spam posts but hopefully in the next day or so we will get this taken care of.

Thanks for your patience

Frank

You are quite welcome Paul.

For the most part, the forum has been insulated from many things. I am very pleased about that. A blip here or there is just part of internet life.
