Strings on CJ35
What's sounding best to you?
Re: Strings on CJ35
I use lights on my guitars and my 2014 CJ35G sounds best with Martin MM12.
Re: Strings on CJ35
I use John Pearse PB Mediums 700M's... Pretty much my go to sting on all my big body Collings.
Re: Strings on CJ35
John Pearse New Mediums are what I used.

Always open to something new. Lately I've tried Martin strings, GHS, D'Addadio....a few sets of different types, but I always keep coming back to John Pearse strings. I like JP 80/20s and Silk and Steel.

Waiting on the CJ 45-T. Do you think your string choices would work on this new model?West R Lee wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 4:52 am Always open to something new. I do, and they'll work nicely. Having said that, I have also found another string I really like. I've never been a fan of coated strings, as to me, they muted the guitar. About 6 months ago I picked up a pack of D'Addario XT strings and fell in love. I actually now have them on both my D2HA and my D1A, and I love them. Just a beautiful sound and they last forever. They've made me eat some crow regarding my previous opinion on coated strings. I don't presently have them on my CJ G, but that would be the closest guitar I've got to your CJ45. I wouldn't hesitate to try either on your CJ.
Let me know what you think if you do try them.
