I have a 290s. The dog ear P90 is really ice picky. treble to the nth degree. Which pickup would give a fuller ballsy sound. Other than the p/u, this little axe is fantastic. Reminds me of my '57 I got in '57

I remember 1957 - but just barely. I was 5 years old.

Tail fins were best in '57. Blueberry Hill was my favorite record - I had just discovered what a radio was. I thought Eisenhower was my Grandpa... ;)

I like the oft-overlooked 'mini humbucker' for a fuller tone.

Seymour Duncan vintage 59 59NJ SH-1n wound by Maricela Juarez 1980s (link above).

My 1961 Gibson Les Paul Junior with SD mini's from the early 80's:

It was given to me covered in 1960's decoupage from teenage rock magazines. I removed the crud and left it unfinished mahogany. I put a 'forearm relief' on it with a band sander. It also has bass frets - no 'jumbos' available in those days!

It sings!
