Re: What is the sound/tone difference of the Collings 01's

DJ, there's an essential tonal difference with the T series. They sound older, more open, with a strong fundamental woodier tone than your standard Collings. I really like them

The all mahogany will have a warmer rounder tone than the spruce top.

Re: Thomastik Infeld Plectrum

DJ I used Thomastiks on an 01a I used to have. They sounded nice & warm. I did end up scraping the silk wrapping off the E & A strings since the 61 was filling up the pin hole to the point that the bridgepin had no room to seat properly.

Re: OM and the 1 11/16 nut width?

Collings doesn't market a 000 14 fret, so it seems that the OM is the generic catch-all for this body shape. It's not specifically used by finger-pickers. Collings offers it in both long and short scale and 1 11/16", 1 23/32 and 1 3/4" nut widths. Lots of players (singer/songwriters, flatpickers et ...

Re: Collings Made Case Information *UPDATE*

Disappointment aside...... at least there is a D case. Just think of the poor 12 fret 00 & 000 players :)

Re: 2007 02h

An 0 size whether 12 or 14 fret would have a lower bout size of 13" + change....with the 12 fret being a little wider even a D has only a 15 5/8" lower bout. The standard neck on a 14 fret 0 would be 1 11/16"

Re: 2003 OM1A - any issues in that time frame?

I can't think of any. Collings does a great job on the OM model & with the Adirondack top they're a very powerful guitar.

Re: Price increase question

Hey Kerry, I'm not really that in-the-know, but Tanya has been at the front desk for a couple of years now. I believe that Angela, as always, works with the dealers. I'm hoping i can make it to Austin in October/November....as the weather is always better than in Alberta that time of year & there ar...

Ukelele sightings UC-1 UT-1 for sale

Collings ukeleles don't come up for sale often. Greg Boyd (House of Fine Instruments) in Missoula just posted 2 for sale from 2010. If you've been looking for one...Greg is a stand-up guy to deal with. https://www.facebook.com/HouseofFineInstruments/?__tn__=kC-R&eid=ARCqJKImMQUInt7xt5UseJ3RYC-GaN4hK...
