Re: Traditional Series Neck Size Change

I've always favoured (& had my guitars spec'd with) the old large vintage neck. I've had an 01 14 fret with a vintage now neck & a 0001g with 1 & 13/16" nut. I find the old or new T neck easy to play as long as it is 1 3/4" at the neck. As for aesthetics the change in ebony doesn't affect me at all....

Re: What CAPO?!?

"someone care to explain why I should buy those Eliott/ McKinney capos? I'd really like to understand." Ol Andy Andy, I don't think you should dump your Shubbs. I'd be the last person to try to convince you. (You know the saw "old dogs, new tricks") My personal experience is pre-internet. First of a...

Re: NAMM 2020

I'm guessing there will be something, but hard to say. I still dream of a "Critter" D1AT in the Julian finish, but Collings has already said "No" to me many times. Word on the street 'latest rumor mill"..... will be available on all T series.... all sizes !! https://www.collingsguitars.com/custom-g...

Re: What CAPO?!?

Rudy (elkabong) Both Myhre's Music in Edmonton & Folkway Music in Ont have Elliott capos. IMO a finer capo than the G7..... the $ difference doesn't tell the whole story. You've got a lot of great guitars...a few bucks more on a capo won't kill you.

Re: Fret wear/replacement

RNF, I'm pretty sure Collings doesn't do refrets. Collings uses proprietary fretwire & I'm not sure EVO will match the feel. Where are you located? One of us may have a suggested repair person. I've got EVO frets on a mandolin & they sound fine.

Re: Fret wear/replacement

Ricky, Getting fretwire from Collings is the ticket. I'm sure someone will chime in with a suggestion for repair work in your area.

Re: Any D1 T or D1A T owners?

Since no one has answered your question, i'll share my experience. Although I don't own one, I've sat across from a couple for more than a few hours. In the pre-T days, I never owned a sitka Collings; all adirondack with the exception of one german spruce top. I have owned a OM1aJL....which is essen...

Re: Guitar Strap by Collings

Elambo, Me neither......nonetheless, people pay more for a watchband or a belt to hold up their jeans. My point is that Collings isn't gouging anyone or forcing them to buy the Levy strap without the Collings logo is the same price. Same old story, Porsche or Hyundai.
