Ken Burns "Country Music" on PBS

Have any of you been following the documentary on the history of Country Music on PBS. I've been fascinated all week. The music has been wonderful. The stories of the artists' lives, loves, trials and successes are great to think about. The photos in the early episodes are captivating and along with...

Re: What polish/wax do y’all use?

For the most part I follow the suggestion of the Collings factory and just use a CLEAN, soft microfiber cloth dampened with distilled water. Your tap water can contain minerals that may remain after the water has evaporated. Many bottled waters contains minerals as well. Distilled water is available...

Re: You don’t see these every day

Dang that is sure pretty. That was the order that got Bill the stability to know that he could make it. Those guitars were built by Bill himself. It's probably a good thing that I don't have 6 grand sitting around. Otherwise I'd have to call Nashville and get that guitar.

Re: Collings Idiosyncratic sound

So in summary, it was not a sound idiosyncratic to Collings. Just a case of not having the ideal relationship between setup and strings.

I'm glad that you were able to solve your problem.

Re: Label Removal

I have never heard of anyone wishing to remove the label from a Collings. It is one of the things most Collings owners are proud of.

That said, if it makes you happy go for it.

Re: Collings 01

The fact that you came here to talk about it indicates that this crack seems to bother you. It is likely that you will continue to wonder about the crack as long as you own the guitar. In the long run you might be better off getting your money back and looking for another. There are a lot of fish in...

Re: Pickup for OM3A cutaway.

When the Collings factory installs a pickup in an acoustic guitar it is added at the end of the build. Therefore. as long as the luthier does a quality job it should be the same either way.

Re: Collings Idiosyncratic sound

Well of course I had to grab my 2000 D2H and hit that G note repeatedly with a variety of grips and a variety of attacks. No rattle or any other unwanted noise.

On my D sized guitars I prefer a hybrid set. I use the John Pearse New Mediums 13, 17, 24, 32, 42, 55
