I missed this forum very much, such a great group here! So I’ll air my pet peeve with the group. I just bought a 2004 MT and it looked pristine until I played it, the intonation was waaay off. So I moved the bridge back 1/4” to where it should be and look what I discovered underneath the feet! This was bought from a knowledgeable dealer who said it was “set up” (read hide the dents)
Does this sort of blemish bother anyone else or am I being too fussy?

It’s too bad the finish was damaged. It doesn’t look good.
If you bought it from a reputable dealer, they should address your concerns.

Charlie, The pragmatic answer is that these things happen. Instruments get wear and tear and bridge misplacements happen. You can talk to the dealer, although that won't make the mark less visible. I bet the mandolin sounds great. I had an MT from 04 or '05. Serial # 525. Fifteen years later i bet they sound even better played in. Good luck, however you deal with coming to terms with mark.

Your comments are right on the mark. I think the problem for the buyer was that the damage was concealed. If the dealer is reputable, then I'd guess that it was unintentional. At any rate, the buyer has to feel comfortable.
