Hi XXXX,

Your candy apple tangerine 290 is almost complete! All of the finish work is done, and it is now in our setup room waiting to have all of it's hardware and electronics reinstalled. This is an extremely busy week for Bill Collings, but the guys have promised me that they will not move forward until he signs it (most likely in one of the pickup cavities...basically beneath one of the pickups). The signature may happen while I'm out of the office, so I have asked them to take a picture of the autograph before installing everything...

We would also like to confirm the color of the pickup covers, pickguard and knobs. I seem to recall you specifying cream, but I can't remember if we committed fully to this. Black would unquestionably look best in our opinion, but we are happy to use whatever you prefer.

Let me know what you think!

Best,

This is a transparent candy finish - not metal fake. Mr. Collings thought that the finish was too labor intensive for production guitars and only painted this one.

As you can see from the signature photo, it's over TV Yellow. If I had thought about it a little more, I would have asked for a black undercoat - oh well. I think it looks great like it is.

I didn't know about the forearm relief option at the time and can't play this guitar due to tendonitis.
