It's what I did. I couldn't find EXACTLY what I wanted anywhere, and given the prices of used Collings guitars, it made sense to me to just order a new one and get just what the doctor ordered. I ordered last November 15, before the price increase. I have no regrets. I called Kim at The North American Guitar and she not only ordered my D1A to my specs, she had over 40 Collings guitars on order and placed my order at the front of the line.
