Every winter my Waterloo WL-S Deluxe gets a pinging sound on the high e string. It's started already and it isn't that dry yet. I can't figure out where it's happening and I do know my way around guitars. How intrusive of a adjustment is this?

At the risk of stating the obvious - I’d start with asking what changes with the onset of winter. First thing I’d hit upon would be humidity levels. Do you live in an area that RH changes dramatically? Do you keep track of the RH levels over the seasons ?

Yes I monitor the RH and it has been around 50. Normally my guitars good around that point. To be honest, though, I changed strings at the problem has been solved. The only reason I didn't think of that first was the fact that it does happen every winter. Thanks
