Has anyone played,(or even own) one of the very few Collings Joe Henry models?
Any information would be welcome, not that I have a chance in hell of catching one.

The specs of that model are intriguing. Would love to get my hands on one. Just FYI, there seems to be one for sale at Acoustic Music Works in Pittsburgh.

What a guitar! Not inexpensive but it offers a lot of guitar for the money!!

Still a couple of these limited edition guitars for sale if you need to have one. They won’t ship out of the country though

Hi, I've just watched the Mark Stutman video and seen/heard Mark Althans playing one.
Right now -still no performing, my dreads are hiding from me, and my most loved/used 2003 0002h standard specs.

This new version -a Martson or Gibstin - a strange hybrid of both.

I have a Collings DS1a with the traditional Collings burst but this new one is more beautiful - and very much in the gibson style. Beautiful.

I wouldn't have one though. It is personal prefe4rnce but I wouldn't have BRW nowadays, and the 1 & 3/4" nut is not for me.
I understand at it has a gibson scale but -seems odd on a 000 (12), as is the extra depth.
Out of stock on folkways site.
Still love to try it though!!!

I wasn't aware that Collings would make such a non standard guitar, but I'm sure lots of things have changed in these days and a batch of 25 seems like a good order for them.

I wish them well.

Why is that? You referring to US or Canada? Both?

It’s actually East Indian rosewood. Prices are really going up!

Silly, Nice to see you post again. I hope all is well with you in the British Isles. Personally, i don't think the Joe Henry is all that far off the mould....& really so Gibsonesque. It's a 12 fret with some appointments that Collings has always offered as options; namely the deep body, short scale and 1 3/4" nut. All make sense in that it's designed for the preferences of Joe Henry. These days the wider nut of the late 20s 12 frets..... 1 13/16" or a 1 7/8" are quite uncommon in modern builds. I did have a ' Martin 12 fret 1937 00-18H converted Hawaiian that was short scale (w a 1 7/8" nut) and it was still a very powerful guitar. Mark Althans is a great player & really showcases that guitar.
