will a handmade D style collings case work for an OM collings withoiut problems?

Did anyone try this? and maybe even have a picture?
or would this be pointless/put guitar at risk?

I have not tried this specific combination of an OM in a Dreadnought case but in years past I have put smaller guitars into a larger case and was never happy with that combination.

Hi- I bought a Reunion Blues Bag for taking my guitars gigging. It won't mark up house or car going in and out. So bought D-size .I took some 1 inch foam 4x10 in had friend sew material around it for not marking ,made 2 of them .When I take my OM or C10 or 000 ,I put the foam on either side at upper area of body on the side ,they fit perfect and I can still use my D2H in the bag

Sorry- I checked my hand made Collings case for my D2HT and put my 0001E in it ,it only needs 1/2inch of foam on each side to be perfect fit at upper portion of body

The OM has room to slide back & forth about 1/2+ inch in the D case. Also with case closed, the OM will move up & down. I would not travel with it like that but if your lusting after the handmade cases, and plan to keep at house with minimal movement, it should be fine. You could possibly find some kind of padding to eliminate the extra room and "secure' the OM better in the case.

PWE yes you could pad up a D case to fit an OM....... but the true OM Bill case is markedly smaller & sleeker. I had both at one time.... if you're driving an OM....keep your eye open for one....they're very nice. BTW....are you the same PWE who used to attend the Collings Gathering events in Dripping Springs 10 yrs + ago?

Greg, yes the very same PWE from the Collings gatherings of years past. We have relocated from the Northwest and now reside in Arizona. Traded in rain for heat but all is good. Hope this finds you well and may we see you at a future event someday

I have a vintage OM case I'd sell for $1000 shipped. PM if interested.
