I see Collings have a new electric model, the 470 JL (Julian Lage). Check it out on the Collings Youtube page, beautiful looking and sounding guitar - in Julians hands anyway

Thanks for posting this. I checked out several videos of JL playing this guitar and it’s a beautiful sounding instrument!

The 470's are shipping now! I have one on the way. Ordered more than a year ago....when I first heard about them in January of last year.

Now really antsy! :)

I was about to say you demonstrated great patience until I saw your “antsy” reference. Can’t blame you. Let us know when it arrives!!!

I've had my 470 a few weeks now and it's the most exciting new electric I've had in years. Collings continues to amaze with new instruments. And the quality just keeps going up!
Bill would be very proud.

This guitar is light and lively. The dynamic range is amazing. It's bright and clear, but not the least bit harsh. It's depth is deep but never boomy. The Ellis pickups seem like the perfect match...I guess they are because the instrument was designed around the pickups reportedly.

What I like is it's versatile ability. Sounds great clean, but it is a rock-n-roll machine if you want it to be.\

Another thing about it is, I own and have owned many Collings acoustics and electrics. They all have the same Collings build quality, but this electric feels more like a Collings acoustic. Specifically the neck. I think it's the unbound Ebony fingerboard. Feels and looks like I'm playing my D1AT. Very different and cool.

I loved it from day 1, but keeps amazing and the connection growing deeper.

Another clear winner. They can't keep them on the shelves and I see why!

Here is another demo that sounds great...so much so I ordered a Carr Telstar as in the video. This smooth, dynamic amp sounds like a perfect match for this instrument.

I got mine yesterday. Wow what a cool guitar; the perfect compliment to my I35!
