Hopefully the cases will maybe be manufactured again. These cases are a work of art and really add a level of quality and uniqueness to any Collings or other guitar

I just purchased a used Collings om1 that came in the Collings handmade case and as Bill said - if you own a Mercedes you have the garage to park it in. The case completes the package!

I don’t like the TLK cases that now come with a Collings guitar. I’m disappointed that Collings will not make the vintage inspired slim cases any longer

I've got all the respect in the world for Collings, and love their traditional cases. In fact, I got one with my D18 D2HA. So given my love for Collings, here's my question. Traditional Collings cases ran, or run around $1200. The TKL case I JUST received my new D1A in is about a $250 TKL.........complete with Tolex pealing off of it right out of the box. When Collings decided to ditch the Traditional cases they made, and go the the far less superior, and $750 cheaper TKL case, did Collings drop their prices?

nope, they didn't. however, mighty tough to make a profit in this business, unless you're martin selling really inferior, listless-color, flatsawn, brazilian and madagascar, say, for the price Jeff Traugott, say, charges for the very very best.:(

It is tough to stay in business. In answer to WR Lee, no Collings did not drop their prices. But I'm sure you've noticed the huge inflation in the last year especially. Crazy prices on cars, gas, vintage guitars.
