the new collings cases, and i'm not referring to the traditonals, are way better than the tkls they used for so many years. i don't know who makes them for collings, i couldn't find a name other than the collings namepate. just fyi.

well, some "loose ones" (car-sales-speak for not presold) beginning to show up on reverb: 2 of 'em ... as well as a used one.

light or medium gauge on there now? today, that guitar ships with d'addario j-16's. ie light gauge.

then, the first thing most luthiers do is to take a graphite pencil and lubricate the nut slots (usually the G-sting is the foremost cuprit).

The only acoustic-related news was the Hill Country announcement, which seems kind of "moot" given the EXTREMELY limited availabilty. so limited, in fact, that it's ...

if what you're talking about is fretboard "fall-off" from the body fret toward the bridge - some is not unusual, but slight if it does exist. some builders even build in a very small amount, to ensure the the fretboard end doesn't go the other way (up) causing buzzing.
